ACRE is a pioneer in providing financial amenities to our residents, including flexible rent offerings and helping residents build credit. We are working to address the problem of “credit invisibility” one resident at a time. As part of our mission to support the financial inclusion of all residents in ACRE communities, we provide 100% of our residents with positive credit recognition with credit agencies on every rent payment at no cost to the resident.
As an expert in the workforce housing industry, we recognize the inherent disconnect between how working families budget expenses and rental leases requiring twelve large payments per year for housing. ACRE broke the traditional landlord / tenant mold by changing this relationship through Flexible Rent, allowing households to better manage cash flow and expenses. ACRE has also eliminated another barrier for workforce households, by eliminating any requirement for security deposits at the majority of the properties we own and operate. The combination of helping families build credit while easing their rent and deposit burdens is helping our workforce housing tenants, many of whom are economically vulnerable, to build stronger household finances.
ACRE fully capitalizes its workforce housing assets for HUD, Section 8, Veterans Administration Supportive Housing (VASH) and other housing support programs. In addition to providing much needed affordable housing, these programs provide diversification and steady rent collection for ACRE. ACRE offers many other renter-friendly policies and services that make our communities more convenient and desirable, such as virtual leasing and tours, digital lease documents, and online rent payment and maintenance requests. Our properties are also leading the way by eliminating pet deposits and fees.
